Entrepreneur Mohammad Karim Fazli, Founder of Golrang Industrial Group

Mr Mohammad Karim Fazli, founder of Golrang Industrial Group and one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs, was born on April 27, 1932 (7 Ordibehesht 1311 in the Iranian calendar) in the city of Sarkan, Hamadan Province. He began his first economic activities while studying, working alongside his father, who was a well-respected merchant and a learned man in the region.
At the age of 20, he traveled to other towns within Hamadan Province to seek better opportunities and gain a broader understanding of the economic conditions of neighboring cities. Through these experiences, he acquired valuable practical knowledge. He later moved to Tehran to gain further experience in the larger, more dynamic environment of the capital. During the early years of his residence in Tehran, he faced numerous challenges, but with determination, he overcame the main obstacles within three years.
His father had previously been involved in soap production, and Mr Fazli became familiar with detergent manufacturing during his youth. Consequently, he was drawn to the detergent industry as the starting point for his production activities. After extensive research, he connected with individuals and companies active in this sector. He then established a small workshop, initially producing dishwashing powder. This production became more organized and extensive in the early 1960s. Later, bleach was added, followed by a series of products including washing powder branded as “Golrang Super,” descaling agents, glass cleaners, and fabric softeners in subsequent years, gradually expanding the scope of his operations. Mr Fazli implemented effective marketing strategies, distributing his products widely to hospitals, hotels, and various organizations. This continued until the early 1970s, when the company Pakshoo was officially established. He continued to develop production activities, increasing the number of workers and staff each year, steadily realizing his entrepreneurial vision step by step.

After the Islamic Revolution of Iran, during the Iran-Iraq War and under the most difficult circumstances, Mr Fazli not only continued production but also began exporting. At that time, due to the special conditions of the war, workforce reduction was unavoidable for most companies. To secure the company’s foreign currency resources, ensure the continuity of production, maintain stable employment for staff, and especially to prevent workforce reductions, he engaged in exports. Through this effort, he was able to provide the foreign currency needed for production, thereby preventing layoffs and continuing his entrepreneurial and productive employment activities.
During this period, various types of shampoo, dishwashing liquid, toothpaste, paper towels, and in other words, almost all hygiene and detergent products with different brands such as Golrang, Aveh, Softlen, etc. . . It was introduced to the country’s market on a large scale and with desirable quality, and today, “Golrang Industrial Group” is one of the most important production groups (holdings) in the country. This group, which currently includes 120 active companies, is one of the most dynamic economic groups emerging from the private sector and raised by popular efforts. It is now, as a leading and exemplary model, making the blood of hope flow in the veins of national production and industry and crystallizing entrepreneurship in its best form.
